Lower Provo River continues to fish good in the afternoon. PMDS are out in full force, along with Caddis starting to show up. nymphing is your best option right now with the water levels being so high. The Middle Provo is fishing best in the early morning. Nymphing with small midge patterns, Sow Bug, and PMD nymphs. Green Drakes are starting to show up low and the middle section towards Deer Creek Reservoir.

The Weber River is nymphing fantasic right now. River flows are at 220cfs. Light yellow and green Midges, sizes 20-22 are working well right now. Along with PMD nymphs yellow in color, sizes 18-22. Caddis are out in the evening with Some Dry Fly action. Fish seem to be keying on PMDS.

Green Drakes are out in full force on the Strawberry River right now, along with Stoneflies. The Duchane River is starting to turn on  with Green Drakes and Caddis Flies starting to emerge. (Park City UT Guides Report)

Lower provo River fished well in the afternoon. With PMDS, Stoneflies and some Caddis out on the water. Size 18-20 PMD nymphs, light green and yellow in color work well. Robert the Guide Pump the stomach of a couple of fish they had a-lot of case Caddis in them. Caddis hatch should be good this year. The Lower Provo is just 35 Minutes away from Park City, Utah.

The Lower Provo is fishing okay in the morning. Snow bugs work for the first hour or so. PMD nymphs work on and off throughout the morning hours. The Pale Morning Duns should hatch strong in the next week or so in the afternoon and run through mid August.

Water levels on the Weber between Rockport and Echo are at 418CFS. The Mother’s Day Caddis are finishing up for the year.   Looking forward  to the PMD Hatch and other species of caddis will come off throgh out the summer. For those of you who want more solitude the Weber is a great alternative. Sow bugs, small midges, beatis, and some cased caddis are your best nymphs this time of year.  Try a  streamer early or during the overcast days.

Utahs Small Streams.There are quite a few Green Drakes and Stone Fly Nymphs on the Strawberry River right now. They should start to hatch in the next couple of weeks. The Duchane River and Current Creek should follow right behind.Utah had a low water year, so the hatches should be awesome this summer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lower Provo River Fished well  today. Darrick caught quite of mid size Brown Trout and some Rainbows. PMDS nymphs, Sow Bug and Caddis Larva work well.

The middle Provo River fished well today. Size 20 pmd nymphs and size 18 soft hackled sow bugs, rainbow in color. Both clients landed over 20 fish combined. We are still a month away from green drakes hatching. Until then, nymphing should continue to be good.
